Blood and Urine Information Your Attorney Will Need

You have been arrested for a DUI. You have immediately hired a Sacramento DUI lawyer to put together a strong defense on your behalf. In order to do this, your attorney will need to gather specific information regarding your case either through private investigation or by launching a formal discovery request. However, your attorney will first assess the details of your case and determine what specific items are needed to build a rock-solid defense.

Urine & Blood

Different aspects of a DUI case require their own forms of discovery in order to put together a good defense. For instance, with regard to the issues of blood and urine, your Sacramento DUI lawyer will need the following information:

  • Your own blood or urine sample
  • Method used in the blood and urine analysis
  • Notes made by the analyst during the process
  • Results of the controls used in the analysis
  • Result of your sample
  • Actual chromatograms of the test of your sample
  • Copy of the run list
  • Maintenance records
  • Chain of custody of your sample
  • Review of the vial your urine and/or blood sample was placed in
  • Instructions or checklists used by the individual who obtained the samples from you
  • Records reflective accuracy checks
  • Records of internal quality assurance checks

The above is simply a checklist of the items your attorney may use in putting together a defense. Your Sacramento DUI lawyer will first evaluate your individual case and then decide which items are needed for a strong defense.

“Param was excellent in my court case of failure to stop at a stop sign. The officer could not see clearly because he was too far away. The officer insisted he could and said he had video but could not produce it at the trial. The officer then asked if he could suspend the trial to go get the video but the judge said he should have had plenty of time to get the video ready beforehand. Needless to say, the judge ruled in my favor and dismissed the case which enraged the officer. Pabla Param’s defense and cross examination skills were excellent and paramount in having the case dismissed. Highly recommended.” T.C.
“My husband and I needed to update everything -family trust, will, medical stuff. Param was really patient -answering all my questions -even when I asked them twice. He wanted to be sure I understood everything we were doing. All docs were sent to us so we could go through them on our own time before anything was finalized. I also liked when we were looking at medical stuff that he had a conversation with me about what I wanted and pointed out some things I didn’t think of.” Debbie
